Gonda. A shocking case of dowry harassment and domestic violence has come to light in Parsupur police station area.
A woman from Sambharpurwa village, Mauja Sakraur, has accused her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law of beating her and trying to strangle her to death. The victim submitted an application to the CO of Karnalganj and demanded an FIR and strict action.
*”We will kill her after midnight” – Threat given
The victim, Neelam wife of Vijay Kumar said she got married 14 years ago. She has 1 son and 1 daughter.
On the night of July 17, 2026 around 10 PM, her husband Vijay Kumar, father-in-law Vidyadhar and mother-in-law Rajkumari allegedly beat her with kicks, punches and slaps. They then started strangling her.
Neelam alleged that during the attack, her in-laws said: _”This dark woman creates drama in the house every day. Kill her and throw her in the river. We will deal with whatever happens. She cannot stay in this house anymore.”
When villagers gathered after hearing the noise, the accused stopped. Later they allegedly planned, _”We will kill her after midnight.”
Took shelter at relatives’ house
Fearing for her life, the woman left home at night and took shelter at her relatives’ place in Vishainanpurwa. In the morning she informed her family. Her uncle then took her to her parents’ house in Koncha Kasimpur. She says her life is still in danger.
Demands FIR
On July 18, Neelam gave an application to the CO Karnalganj demanding an FIR against her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law and proper legal action.
CO Karnalganj said:_”We have received the application. The matter will be investigated and legal action will be taken against the guilty.”
